The Word Hoard

The Word Hoard is a cooperative of writers, visual artists, performers and musicians, based in West Yorkshire.

In 2002 it received a National Lottery grant to develop its base as a resource centre, and amongst other activities, created a small press library to build a representative collection of non-mainstream and non-commercial publications.

A small press is defined on the site as one that publishes books for love of publishing, rather than for profit, and who concentrates on work that is often outside the mainstream, and whose books are largely unavailable in public or university libraries.

Reviews of published books are currently online.

------------------------- The Word Hoard adds in response to this review---------------:

The Word Hoard produces work in all media, through a variety of methods, including workshops, collaborations and commissions.

There are some reviews of our books, published by Spout, and there are some reviews of recent donations of new publications to the library (on the site).
