Founded
in 1984, the Scottish Poetry Library now has a collection of written works,
tapes and videos. The emphasis is on 20th century poetry written in Scotland,
in Scots Gaelic and English.
However, historic Scottish poetry and contemporary works from around the
world are included in the library.
The site carries detail of library activity including a poetry van which
traveled Scotland to present borrowing sessions, writing workshops, talks
and readings.
The van carried books, cassette tapes and magazines, all of which could
be borrowed. FREEPOST labels were provided for their return.
There is an A-Z of poets and a search facility for poets with connection
to the Scottish Poetry Library.
Links of interest to poets, scholars and those with an interest in poetry
or literature are included.
