Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators
Formed
in1971 by a group of Los Angeles based writers for children, the Society
of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) is an international
organisation offering services to those who write, illustrate, or share
interest in children’s literature. Its activities and offers are
listed on the site.
The SCBWI claims more than 19,000 members worldwide, in more than 70 regions,
making it the largest children's writing organisation in the world, according
to the Society.
An excellent and pertinent links section is provided at no charge as is
free news to all visitors.
Membership of the society requires payment of an annual fee. A newsletter is available to members.
