CELT, the Corpus of Electronic Texts, is a not-for-profit site dedicated to bringing the wealth of Irish literary and historical culture to the Internet, for the use and benefit of everyone worldwide. Based at University College, Cork, it has a searchable online database of contemporary and historical texts from many areas. Its FAQ section said its primary aim is to publish the original texts to the Internet in a scholarly project. Wherever it can, it tries to accompany the texts with an english translation for the benefit of those visitors who cannot enjoy the originals. Texts are presented in usable form and are accompanied by introductions, translations, and scholarly bibliographies. CELT is integrated into the teaching and research community of UCC and it draws on the resources of that community and contributes to its work. However, offers of assistance at any level of expertise are welcomed. If you can help. get in touch. © askaboutwriting.net November 2004. Commentary included with
