Society of American Travel Writers

Now more than 50 years in existence, the Society of American Travel Writers is a tax-exempt professional association whose purpose is to: promote responsible journalism and to encourage the conservation and preservation of travel resources worldwide.

Members include writers, photographers, editors, electronic media and journalists, film lecturers, broadcast/video/film producers and public relations representatives.

SATW represents more than 1,300 professional journalists, photographers, and media relations professionals in North America.

An online declaration said it believes in fair and equitable contracts for the services of its freelance members. Payment should be per use, whatever the form or medium, said SATW.

The website includes a list of members and the site provides a search function.
