The Publishers Association is the leading trade organisation serving publishers in the UK. The Association offers timely advice on its website to members on the Data Protection Act 1998, which aims to regulate the collection of personal information from people. Web site operators need to recognise that children have a lower level of understanding than adults, said the PA. Site information should be in simple language, particularly information about the user’s legal rights and remedies.
