Some 4,000 teachers, librarians, booksellers, journalists and readers and writers of poetry around the world are members of the Poetry Society.
The society runs the National Poetry Competition Britain's longest running poetry competition, details of which may be found on the site. The competition is launched in May and open until the end of October each year.
The site looks at events, competitions, festivals and the poetry scene in general. Details of Britain's leading poetry magazine, Poetry Review, and Poetry News, are included on the site.
