IBBY
(International Board on Books for Young People)

IBBY is the International Board on Books for Young People and is a non-profit organization representing an international network of people committed to bringing books and children together.

Founded in Zurich, Switzerland in 1953, IBBY today is composed of more than sixty national sections all over the world.

Membership includes: authors, illustrators, publishers, editors, translators, journalists, teachers, university professors, students, librarians, booksellers, social workers and parents.

The website has a news section and links to IBBY branches worldwide. A seperate section details IBBY activities.

Every other year, IBBY presents the Hans Christian Andersen Awards to a living author and illustrator whose complete works have made a lasting contribution to children's literature.
