Highlands & Islands short story association The website of HISSAC (Highlands & Islands Short Story Association) details the aims and doings of the association. HISSAC is set up to be a network of writers who maintain contact with each other to critique and encouraging each other’s work with objectivity. Members fill in a form to say which type of writing they do and the contact they would like with other writers of similar ilk. Most people preferring contact by email, according to the association. There is no membership fee to be part of the association and receipts from an annual open short story competition funds activities. Details of winning stories, competitions, and contact numbers are on the site. siteLink
