This site aims to explore different critical approaches to the study of crime literature and film.

Included are interviews with crime writers.

Essays are posted on crime subjects including victorian detective fiction, gangster sagas, film noir, American hard-boiled, true crime, graphic novels, video games, and television series. Reading lists are suggested

There are even lists of relevant courses at British and American universities which might be attended.

Some sites devoted to contemporary crime writers are listed on the links pages.

A worthwhile addition is a section devoted to 21st century crime so that the site can be up to date at all times.
