The guild is a professional association of more than 200 travel writers and others. It acts as a forum for debate and networking.

Its site gives details of the guild whose membership includes travel writers, editors, photographers and broadcasters, specialists in many fields of travel from safaris to self-catering, diving to dancing, art to aviation.

An annual review of 100 useful internet sites is complied and presented.

Member restricted areas of the website include a searchable database of members, a calendar of travel-related events, and a travel industry database which lists media, PR tourism and travel companies.
