The
Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) is the publishing industry's regulatory
body, providing circulation data for newspapers, magazines and websites.
Its ratings are used by advertisers to set advertising rates.
Writers contemplating writing for a particular periodical may access the
publication’s circulation and readership data on the site.
Membership is open to advertisers, advertising agencies and media owners.
Media owners will only be accepted into membership on completion of a
satisfactory ABC audit for their product.
ABC ELECTRONIC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the ABC and, like ABC,
is an industry-owned, non-profit distributing organization. It was launched
in 1996 and claims to be the leading source of independently audited data
for electronic media measurement in the UK and Ireland, using internationally
agreed standards.
