The Council’s editorial department provides services to publishers and authors in Wales and deals with around 200 manuscripts annually, in both English and Welsh.
A manuscript assessment service is available to authors.

The Council is responsible for the administration of publishing grants formerly administered by the Arts Council of Wales. This is in addition to administering the publishing grant which has been the Books Council’s responsibility since 1981.

A links section lists among other things some of the main publishers in Wales.

Quite a substantial part of the department’s work is done on-line and it can receive and send material by e-mail, as Word attachments, said the Council.
