The Society of Authors is a British trade union for professional writers and has more than 7,000 members.

Staff provide individual advice on all business aspects of writing, including the vetting of contracts.

The Society also represents the writing profession by campaigning for improved terms and changes in legislation, including copyright and libel laws.
