The New Zealand Book Council

An official site whose mission is to inspire New Zealanders to read, write, create and learn through books.

The site includes author profiles and a links section and a how-to-do–it section on generating publicity and dealing with the media; writing a press release; getting published; running a literary event; dealing with a visiting writer; and making the most of book groups.

For 30 years the New Zealand Book Council has been committed to promoting books and reading by bringing together readers, writers, publishers, editors, schools and reviewers.

The organisation operates a wide range of activities and programmes designed to meet the needs of writers and readers; and encourage a love of literature in the wider community.
