Housed
in an 1840s renovated model school Sligo’s Model Arts and Niland
Gallery is an arts centres with an extensive programme of visual and performing
arts.
Literary events are part of its activities and details are posted on the
site as they occur. The year 2004 saw the inaugural Scríobh Poetry
Competition being run in conjunction with Sligo's Scríobh festival
then in its eleventh year.
The Scríobh festival is held at the Model Arts and Niland Gallery
in Sligo
Ten short-listed writers were invited to participate in a workshop with poet Macdara Woods in the arts centre in 2004.
