The European Writers' Congress EWC

The European Writers' Congress, EWC, was founded in 1977 and established with its first set of statutes in 1985 as the Federation of European Writers' Associations.

By summer 2003, there were 52 member organisations of writers and literary translators in 28 countries of Europe, representing some 54,000 authors.

The site gives detail of EWC activity and lists author’s rights.

In representing authors as a supra-national organisation, the EWC is recognised by the major competent European bodies and political institutions.

Its newsletter/bulletin D'information is published three times per year or more often, as required.
