Dictionary.com is a multi-source dictionary search service with free access for general enquiries. A premium service is available for a more detailed service.

Users type a word in the search box and a search function yields either a thesaurus or dictionary report taken across a range of dictionaries hosted on the site.

The source of each reply is given so that the link for information about the dictionary, including publisher contact information, may be pursued.

The US website includes a list of FAQ, a section on grammar, usage and style and other pertinent information to the word seeker.
