Clare County Library

A mission statement on the website of Clare County Library proclaims its policy as actively promoting the reading habit: “Not being content to simply stack books on shelves, and hope that our clients will find them for themselves, our overall aim is to increase access to material.”

There are useful links on the site for both readers and writers. Of particular interest to writers are the category links to published authors.

The 100 Masters Of Crime page concludes that many crime readers rarely stray from their favourite authors. To widen perspective, a list of 100 crime writers and bios of each are included on the site.

Library research suggests that reading of crime novels usually starts when readers reach the mid-twenties and then increases, said the library.
