Royal Society Prizes for Science Books

Site of the Prizes formerly sponsored by Aventis which aims to encourage the writing, publishing and reading of good and accessible popular science books.

Rolling information is included on each year’s competition together with comprehensive detail on past winners and their work.

Prizes of up to a total of £30,000 are awarded in two categories and the site contains detail on how publishers may enter the competition.

The Royal Society Prizes for Science Books are managed by The Royal Society, the UK national academy of science.

The prizes cover all aspects of popular science and technology, including biographies of scientists and technologists, and histories of science and technology.

The Prizes reward books that best contribute to making science more accessible to public audiences.
