Arvon Foundation

Begun in 1968 by young poets, John Fairfax and John Moat, the Arvon Foundation now runs residential creative writing courses at centres in four locations: Devon, Shropshire, Yorkshire and Inverness.

The site lists details of the foundation’s development and present locations with contact detail.

Courses are conducted for all ages and backgrounds in an inspirational space and dedicated time, said Arvon.

This year, 2004, will see Arvon develop its offering to schools with additional resources, tutor visits to schools and writing clubs being established.

The Arvon Foundation is a registered charity and receives public subsidy from Arts Council England. Support for the Inverness comes from The Scottish Arts Council.
