Aosdána

Aosdána is an official association of creative artists in Ireland and includes some 84 writers amongst its ranks. The site gives detail of the chosen.

Established by the Arts Council in 1983, Aosdána honours those whose work made an outstanding contribution to the arts in Ireland, and encourages members to devote their energies fully to art.

Membership is by peer election, and is limited to 200 living artists who have produced a distinguished body of work.
