In
a twist away from writing on keyboards a national contest is asking children
handwrite entries to the 2012 EBS/INTO National Handwriting Competition
The competition is celebrating its 20th year and is open to all national
schools throughout Ireland. Children can enter through their local primary
schools.
The competition traditionally attracts entries from more than 100,000
children each year.
Entrants this year are asked to write a piece of prose or a poem about
their own family or copy in their best handwriting a piece connected to
family in some way.
Students are being judged on style, flair, neatness and layout of their
handwriting rather than on content
Entries are received in categories ranging from infants to sixth class,
with a Special Education prize also being awarded.
A national prize giving ceremony will take place in Dublin on April 24,
though what the prizes are is not specified in releases issued on the
competition, so do ask the organizers.
