Words by the Water/Mirehouse
Poetry Competition
Poems
up to 40 lines in length on the theme of There is no joy but calm
are being accepted for the Words by the Water/Mirehouse Poetry Competition.
First prize is £350.
Entry fee is £4.
The winning poem and eight highly commended poems will be displayed on
the Mirehouse Poetry Walk and on the Mirehouse website.
Eight commended poets will receive a box of new books worth £100,
each.
There will be a reading of these nine poems at a special event at Mirehouse
on Saturday March 10, at 1:30 pm.
Entrants may submit as many poems as they wish. Two copies of each poem
must be submitted.
No entry should have been already accepted for publication, read on radio/television
or stage or have been awarded a prize in any other competition.
Closing date for entries is February 10,
