Erma Bombeck competition is back

Entries will be accepted in Dayton Ohio from January 3 for the Erma Bombeck Writing Competition

A $500 cash prize is on offer to winners in all four categories of Humor - Global; Humor - Local; Human Interest - Global; Human Interest - Local

Entry fee is $15.

Run every other year, some 651 writers from 17 different countries entered the 2010 competition.

All ages may enter and entries are accepted from anywhere in the world.

Your entry must be written in English.

There is a limit of one entry total, not per category, but per person.

Personal essay must be 450 words or fewer.

Essay must be previously unpublished, or published once since January 3, 2012.

Hard copy entries will not be accepted and will not be returned if submitted.

Closing date for entries is February 14, 2012.
