scene wins bad award for writer
David
Guterson has won the 19th annual Literary Review Bad Sex in Fiction Award
for his work in Ed King.
The book is a re-imagining of the Oedipus myth but set in the second half
of the twentieth century.
The judges voted it the winner of the Bad Sex Award for this year .
"In the shower, Ed stood with his hands at the back of his head,
like someone just arrested, while she…" is the start of one
stunning passage, according to the judges.

John Updike was awarded a Bad Sex Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
