Shower scene wins bad award for writer

David Guterson has won the 19th annual Literary Review Bad Sex in Fiction Award for his work in Ed King.

The book is a re-imagining of the Oedipus myth but set in the second half of the twentieth century.

The judges voted it the winner of the Bad Sex Award for this year .

"In the shower, Ed stood with his hands at the back of his head, like someone just arrested, while she…" is the start of one stunning passage, according to the judges.
