Council funding cuts ends free writers newsletter

tight financingChanges to counil funding will mean an end to free circulation of a newsletter to some 6,000 subscribers.

The national association of writers in education in Britain (NAWE) will no longer receive Arts Council funding from the end of March 2012.

It has therefore made some significant changes in order to sustain its support for writers and the sector as a whole, said NAWE in a statement.

From the April 1, 2012, the free Writer's Compass e-bulletin will only be available through NAWE membership.

A special e-membership rate is £10 per year – a modest contribution that will enable a unique and invaluable service to continue and thrive.

NAWE is a membership organization. Its membership includes writers, teachers, students, academics, literature development workers, librarians, universities, colleges and arts organizations.
