Tell-a-Story
Day
Tell-a-Story
Day will once more be a part of the Scottish International Storytelling
Festival.
The designated day of Friday October 29,
2010 is on the cusp of Hallowe'en when stories walk abroad on their own.
Tell-a-Story Day is the national celebration of oral storytelling, in
Scotland, and an opportunity to hold your own DIY storytelling event –
big or small – and tell your own tales, or encourage and enable
other people to share their stories, experiences and memories, said the
promoters.
The Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh is offering practical support
to those who wish to continue and celebrate this tradition of oral literature.
Available will be: downloadable Tell-a-Story Day resources to help plan,
run and promote an event; advice and inspiration; a support pack of colourful
Tell-a-Story Day posters and stickers to help promote and celebrate an
event; information on a range of professional storytellers in your area,
and advice on booking them for Tell-a-Story Day.
An online listing of Tell-a-Story Day events will be carried on the Scottish
Storytelling Centre’s website.
