Poole Literary Festival forms a partnership

Poole Literary Festival is to partner with The Media School at Bournemouth University to establish a prize for new media writing.

Prizes: £250 and an Apple iPad for Best New Media Writing; £250 and an Apple iPad for Best Student New Media Writing.

The prize will allow writers working with new media to showcase their skills, provoke discussion and raise awareness of new media writing and the future of the written word, said the promoters.

Suitable for consideration would be storytelling, whether fiction or non-fiction, written specifically for delivery and reading or viewing on a PC or Mac, on the web, or by mobile phone.

New media writing can be created using any equipment, from a word processor, to a DV camera.

Anything goes, as long as an engaging story is told, said the promoters.

Not wanted is: a story/poem written for print uploaded to a webpage or place on a CDROM.

Closing date for entries is September 15, 2010.
