A
Dagger in the library
Unlike
most literary prizes, the £1,500 Dagger in the Library recognition
is awarded not for an individual book but for the author’s body
of work, by the Crime Writers Association.
Nominated authors must be alive, preferably working in Britain and cannot
have won the award before. Anyone may nominate a favourite crime writer.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the website
A branch library or reading group may nominate up to three individual
authors.
S ome 70 authors were nominated in 2009.
The 2010 Dagger Awards ceremony will be held this year at the Harrogate
Festival.
Closing date for entries is April 9, 2010.
