PLR
rate announced
Payments
to authors continue for the public borrowings of their books under the
new Irish PLR system.
The Rate Per Loan for PLR Year 2009 is 13.93 cent.
Authors who chose Euro cheque will receive a cheque and a statement in
the post in February 2010.
Cheques and statements to authors resident in Ireland were posted on December
30, 2009 for PLR Year 2009.
Authors outside the Republic of Ireland could choose to be paid by Euro
cheque or via a collecting society. Those who missed the deadline for
selecting a payment method will be paid by Euro cheque, according to the
PLR office.
Authors who chose to be paid through ALCS will receive their payment in
ALCS’s February payment, and will also receive their statements
from ALCS, said Irish PLR in a statement.
Statements will only list books that were registered prior to October
9, 2009. Books registered after that date will be included for PLR year
2010.
