No more UFOs
Writers
on the world of unidentified flying objects may or may not have a field
day with UFO reports following the decision of the UK’s Ministry
of Defence that it would no longer be investigating UFO sightings.
The department dealt with more than 12,000 reports over a 60-year period.
But it said no UFO report has revealed any evidence of a potential threat
to the United Kingdom.
On investigation, some 95 per cent of sights were explained with just
five per cent of reports remaining unexplained.
The department said in a statement that it had no opinion on the existence
or otherwise of extra-terrestrial life.
In any case, the MOD has no specific capability for identifying the nature
of such sightings, said the department.
