STAGE International Script Competition Four
The
winning script in the fourth STAGE International Script Competition will
receive a prize of $10,000 with a staged performance by a cast of professional
actors in California.
The competition is not open to plays written in the genre of science fiction.
Submitted plays must explore scientific or technological stories, themes,
issues, and events.
Science and technology must figure prominently in the script, in form
or content, said the promoter.
However, biographical dramas, history plays, and medical dramas are discouraged
unless they significantly employ science or technology.
All plays must be original, with a minimum performance time of 70 minutes,
and be submitted in English.
Authors are strongly urged to avoid the stereotypes often assigned to
science, technology, and those who engage in these disciplines.
The winning play will be announced on the website in July, 2010. The winning
author will be notified directly, prior to public notification.
Closing date for entries is December 15,
2009.
