Usborne Young Writers' Award
Usborne
publishers have launched their fifth anniversary Usborne Young Writers'
Award.
The competition is open to British children up to and including the age
of 14 years on October 23, 2009, the closing date of the award
Five established authors have each written one of five very different
story-starters.
There is a story-starter to suit every taste, from murder mystery to fairytale
adventure, said the promoters.
Finished stories should be 1,000 words or less.
Five winners will be chosen, each of whom will win five amazing prizes:
A trip to Usborne House to meet the authors; an author visit at their
school; £100 of Usborne books;a year's free subscription to readingzone.com;
a year's free subscription to Young Writer Magazine.
Closing date for entries is October 23,
2009.
