Middle East short story contest

yellow pencilThe British Council has invited writers from the 12 to 18 year age group to participate in its Middle East short story competition.

Open to GCC, Iraq and Yemen nationals only, the contest is to celebrate the British Council’s 75 years of work in cultural relations in the region.

There are two age categories, 12-15 and 16-18 years.

Entries may be submitted electronically or you can print off an entry form and send a hardcopy to your nearest British Council office

Note that entrants must comply with the official entry form guidelines

Winners from each group will be presented with their awards at a ceremony in November, the British Council’s birthday month.

Closing date for entries is June 30, 2009.
