Literary Prize
Entrants
must be under 25 years of age to enter the Benjamin Franklin House Literary
Prize – Young Writers Award:
Entrants must also be professional writers.
Entries of 1,000-1,500 words are accepted.
Email
Provide your name, email, postal address, and telephone number.
In addition, entrants for the Young Writers Award must provide their age
and place of study, if applicable.
The 2009 Benjamin Franklin House Literary Prize asks professional and
young writers to interpret the Franklin quote: “Those who would
give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve
neither liberty nor safety.”
The winner of the Young Writers Prize will receive £500 while the
winner of the Professional Writers Prize will receive £1,000.
Winning essays will be published in the Daily Telegraph and online..
Entrants for the Professional Writers Award should provide a CV. Entries
can be relevant articles or essays produced over the preceding year.
Closing date September 30, 2009
