Basil Bunting Poetry Award

Results of the inaugural Basil Bunting Poetry Award will be published on the web after the December 10 awards ceremony.

Prizes: £1,000, £500, £250 or one of three commendations of £75 each

Fees: for the first poem £7 and for any further poems £3 each. There is no limit on the number of poems you can submit.

The award is open to anyone, anywhere, who is aged more than 18 years of age on September 30, 2009.

Poems will be judged anonymously. Poems must be in English and not exceed 42 lines in length and must be the original work of the entrant.

The poems must not have been published , nor, entered in any other competition prior to December 10, 2009.

No identifying marks must appear except for the title.

Overseas postal entries must be paid in notes only in euro or US dollars. Registered post is recommended.

Online entries are paid through PayPal.

Copyright will be retained by the author but the Basil Bunting Poetry Award reserves the right to publish the winning entries and commendations on their website

Winners will be announced on December 10, 2009

Closing date for entries is September 30, 2009.
