Letters written by George Orwell who died in 1950was sold last week at auction, in London, for £84,000.

The letters cover the early 1930s when Orwell stayed with his parents in Suffolk, after he returned from Burma.

The letters are to his friends and discuss the writing of his first two books.

They were auctioned by Bonhams Auctioneers.

Orwell wrote Animal Farm, (1945), and Nineteen Eighty-Four, (1949), amongst other works still in print today.
