Manchester Cathedral Poetry
Competition
The
winner of a Manchester poetry competition will be designated Manchester
Cathedral Poet of the Year, 2008.
Prizes: £300, £150 or £75.
Poems submitted should be broadly religious and appeal to those who would
not necessarily describe themselves as such.
Entry fee: £3 for the first poem and £2 each for others.
An entry form is required. Email
Post: ‘The Religious Poetry Competition’, The Cathedral, Manchester
M3 1SX.
The competition is open to everyone. Poems should have no more than 40
lines each.
They must be the original work of the entrant and unpublished anywhere.
Competitors may enter as many poems as they wish.
The prize winning poem will be printed in the Cathedral Newsletter for
November 2008, and all three poems, with any runners up, in a competition
booklet.
Any profits from the competition will go towards the work of the Cathedral’s
‘Booth Drop-In Centre for the Homeless.’
Closing date for entries is June 30, 2008
