Friday Project ends weak
The
independent web-to-print publisher The Friday Project Ltd went into liquidation
this week.
TFP was founded in 2005 to specialise in sourcing the "brightest
talent from the web and develop brilliant books from it."
Stephen Franklin of liquidators Panos Eliades Franklin & Co told trade
publication PN that some £360,000 was owed to trade and expense
creditors while assets were valued at £50,000.
HarperCollins is reported to be interested in purchasing TFP assets.
It is possible that TFP could continue as an imprint or subsidiary of
HaperCollins, said trade sources.
The list of creditors includes: printers, freelances, distributors and
authors.
An April 4, 2008 blog message on the commercial director Scott Pack’s
TFP blog said: “The mail server is down so if you have emailed me
in the past couple of days and are wondering why I am ignoring you, now
you know.”
