Edwin Morgan International Poetry Competition

A major new Scottish and international poetry competition - named in honour of Edwin Morgan, Scotland's first national poet is accepting entries.

Prizes: £5,000, £1, 000 or £500.

Entry fees are £5 per poem

Winners will read their work at a special prize-giving event.

Maximum of 60 lines per poem. The prize is open to anyone, aged more than 18 years, to enter.

Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must not be published, self-published, published on any website or broadcast

The author’s identity or contact details must not appear on any poem but be supplied on a separate cover sheet.

The copyright of each poem remains with the author. The authors of the winning poems must grant the Glasgow Poetry Society the right to use the poems for one year from date of award.

Closing date for entries is June 2, 2008.
