Waterstone’s
Launches Guide to Getting Published
Waterstones.com
has launched The Waterstone’s Guide to Getting Published.
With advice on everything from the role of an agent to how to approach
a publisher, it provides tips on alternative routes to the reader through
self-publishing and blogging.
Included are helpful quotes from Waterstone’s experts and industry
insiders from The Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook 2008.
Waterstones.com
editor, Greg Eden said: “We can’t guarantee The Waterstone’s
Guide to Getting Published will get you a book deal, but it will
make the process of trying a lot less scary. Sometimes the difference
between getting published can be a matter of just following a few simple
rules, so reading our guide could make all the difference.”
The guide is to be the first activity in The Writer’s Year, a 12-month
calendar of events and activities highlighting the role of the author
and the special relationship between writers and readers.
Other highlights of the year will be selection of the very best in literary
fiction from new writers in March’s New Voices, a revealing
look at a bestselling author’s favourite books in May on The Writer’s
Table, and focuses on local favourites, children’s writing and poetry
later in the year.
Meanwhile, the guide can be found at Waterstone's website
